53 MILLER STREET, GLASGOW
THE BRIEF
As my first individual project in college I was asked to create a 1:20 scale model of a doorway in Miller Street.

I created a digital CAD drawing to use for dimensions.

The materials are a combination of MDF, styrene, chemi wood, acrylic and urethane resin castings.

It took two months to make and finish the model.

CONSTRUCTION

MDF and styrene were used to construct the majority of the shape of the doorway and the door itself.
Fast cast resin was used for trimmings and pillar supports.
I also used acrylic for the mitred edges of the widow sill.
PAINTING AND FINISHING
Using a grey primer to begin with I then spray painted the main door piece a sandstone colour.
Other pieces such as the lamp post and cobbled street were created by hand.
The weathering was all hand painted.
