"FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM" SUITCASE AND CREATURES"
THE BRIEF
As my final project for my second year in college I decided to replicate the suitcase and some of the creatures and props featured in the 2016 film.

The materials are a combination of MDF, styrene, faux leather, super sculpey, poly-urethane resin, blue foam and several pre-bought lock and stud pieces.

This project is still ongoing in the three month deadline.
(The images below feature individual parts of the project which are not complete).
CONSTRUCTION
For the suitcase the base, lid and false bottom were made from a variety of thicknesses of MDF.
The MDF was then covered in hand weathered faux leather or cloth for the lining of the case.
For the different creatures I used super sculpey to hand sculpt each before boiling and painting them.
These creatures include a Niffler, a Bowtruckle and the tail of an Occamy.
There are other props inside the case featured in the film including a tea pot, posters, identification card, pearl necklace and hand knitted scarf.
A main part of the project is over 30 gold coins. The originals were designed for the appropriate time period (1920's American) and 3D printed. These were then made into a mould which produced multiple poly urethane resin castings.
Another main part of the project is two large Occamy eggs.
Masters were made from MDF then vacuum formed using styrene. Each egg was then cut to make it look as though the eggs have hatched.
This project is not complete so there are no images of the suitcase and props together.
