THE BRIEF
BILBO BAGGINS HOBBIT HOUSE
As a summer project before beginning college I decided to make a miniature of Bilbo Baggins' house from the film franchise "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings."

The materials are scraps from previous projects such as balsa wood, card and paper mâché.
​
It took three days of continuous work to make and finish the model.
CONSTRUCTION
I began with some rendered scale drawings to use for rough measurements.
I used card for the front of the house, the base and smaller details such as the door and brickwork.
Paper mâché was then used to build up the hill in between the pieces of card and balsa wood used for the roof.
PAINTING AND FINISHING
The entire model was hand painted to match the house featured in the film.
